2023 Custom Cherry Blossom Tour
Built for three couples in their silver years, one of which had never been to Japan.
Day 1: Start at hotel at noon (in case of jet lag). Lunch at Naniwa Soba. Sight seeing Osaka City in the afternoon. Dinner at Suian, return to hotel by 9:00pm.
Day 2: Take Shinkansen (bullet train) to Miyajima Shrine, lunch at Miyajima. Transit to Hiroshima and visit Peace Park and Museum. Dinner at Ekimae Hiroba, return to hotel by 9:00pm.
Day 3: Transit to Himeji and tour Japan’s largest castle. Lunch at Oden to Kushikatsu. Transit to Korakuen Park, dinner at Ichimon, return to hotel in Hiroshima by 8:30pm.
Day 4: Shinkansen to Hakata and have private temple tour. Lunch near Hakata station. Shinkansen to Kyoto, dinner at Masuichi, return to hotel by 9:00pm.
Day 5: In the morning, visit Kinkakuji and Ryoanji Temples. Lunch at Seigen-in. Afternoon tour of Tenryu-ji Temple, the Bamboo Forest, and Togetsukyo Bridge. Dinner at Hyoto, return to hotel by 8:30pm.
Day 6: Morning tours of Fushimi-Inari Shrine and Kiyomizudera Temple. Stroll Ninenzaka Street and lunch at Ukiya. Afternoon visits to Miyako-odori and Gion Shiwakawa. Dinner at Maikohan, return to hotel by 9:00pm.
Day 7: Morning visit to Heian-jingu Shrine. Lunch at Soda. Afternoon tour of Nijo-jō Castle, then Itajime Shibori scarf dyeing experience. Dinner at CUBE, return to hotel by 8:30pm.
Day 8: Transit to Daimonzaka and have lunch. Trek the Kumanoo Kodo trail. See the Kumano Nachi Taisha Shrine, hike to Seianto-ji Temple, and watch the Nachi no Taki (falls). Dinner is Eki-ben on the Shinkansen. Return to hotel by 10:00pm.
Day 9: Shinkansen to Nagoya Castle, lunch at Shibafukuya. Transit to Nakatsugawa, dinner at Magome Hotel. Finish dinner by 7:30pm.
Day 10: Nakasendo hiking trail. Lunch at Tsumago. Transit to Tokyo, check into hotel by 7:30pm. Dinner TBD based on how tired the group is.
Day 11: Toyosu Fish Market and Senso-Ji Temple in Asakusa. Lunch while cherry blossom viewing. Afternoon tea time with fruit parfait then Meiji Shrine. See Shibuya Station and Hachiko statue. Dinner at Matsukiya, return to hotel by 8:00pm.
Day 12: Hibiya Park cherry blossom viewing in the morning. Brunch (last meal in Japan) at Senbikiya. Rika accompanies the the guests to the airport.
The Father, Son, & Daughter Tour of 2023

Day 1: Meet the family at Kansai Airport in Osaka. Transit to Kyoto and dinner at Kyoto Station. Check into hotel by 8:00pm.
Day 2: Breakfast at Cafe January. Visit Kinkaku-ji, traditional teshoku lunch then To-ji temple. Okonomiyaki for dinner, return to hotel by 7:30pm.
Day 3: Visit Kiyomizudera and Ninenzaka Street. Sushi lunch at Temari. Nijo-jo Castle in the afternoon. Dinner TBD, return to hotel by 7:30pm.
Day 4: Fushimi Inari Shrine followed by tempura lunch near the main shrine gate. Afternoon tour of the Bamboo Forest and Togetsukyo Bridge. Dinner is yakiniku and return to hotel by 7:00pm.
Day 5: Transit to Osaka for breakfast. Enter Hanshin Park for a Tigers baseball game. Lunch in the park. Tour downtown Osaka in the late afternoon. Dinner at Isetan in Kyoto Station. Return to hotel by 7:30pm
Day 6: Shinkansen (bullet train) to Himeji and tour Japan’s largest feudal castle. Lunch of Himeji oden. Shinkansen to Hiroshima and dinner of Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki. Check into hotel by 8:00pm.
Day 7: Transit to Miyajima Island and visit the shrine in the sea. Lunch on Miyajima. Catch late afternoon Shinkansen to Kyoto. Dinner of Tōnkatsu at Kyoto Station. Return to hotel by 8:00pm
Day 8: Transit to Nara and visit Todai-ji, Japan’s largest bronze Buddha. Teshoku lunch in Nara. Tour Nara Koen (park) in the afternoon. Sushi dinner in Shijo, Kyoto. Return to hotel by 7:00pm
Day 9: Souvenir shopping in the morning. Lunch near Nishiki market. Afternoon visit to Kitanotenmangu Shrine for Plum Blossom festival. Dinner is guest’s choice.
Day 10: Transit to Osaka and visit the Osaka Aquarium. Lunch at the Aquarium cafe. Afternoon tour of Osaka Castle. Dinner of Okonomiyaki in Osaka. Return to hotel by 7:30pm.
Day 11: Pack in the morning. Sushi lunch at Kyoto Station. Train to Kansai International Airport. Guests depart Japan until their next adventure.
